Baroque

The Baroque was an era of excessses, of drama in religious art, of impetutous, tempetuous, brilliant artists and musicians.

Michelangelo Merisi, who has come to be known simply as Caravaggio, led a wild, rough life of swordfights and lovers (likely of both sexes) and exiles and, in the midst of it all, beautiful, startling, revolutionary art (often sacred). His life and escapes (or an abbreved version thereof) can be found at the interactive timeline From Darkness: The Life and Scandals of Caravaggio.
